Intro

Mileus creates new urban transportation possibilities for evening commuting by interconnecting public transport and taxi / ride-hailing services. Reducing congestion and pollution in cities, enhancing comfort for commuters, increasing public transport ridership and improving vehicle utilisation for ride-hailing operators.

We tackle the problem of unsustainable urban transport with too many private cars in city centres, largely due to a combination of commuting and taxi / ride-hailing services, and that of ride-hail & taxi operations decreasing public transport ridership.

Our B2B2C API technology enables a deep, automated integration between the two modes, allowing us to guarantee the service availability and quality. This intermodal urban transportation solution minimises or even eliminates the pain points of commuting by public transport (number of transfers, transfer waiting times, last mile walking distance), with a focus on the evening commute. It is more comfortable and faster than a journey by public transport only and cheaper than a trip by taxi only, with a guaranteed service availability and quality. Motivating residents to leave their cars at home.

For our customers, ride-hailing and taxi operators, we offer technology & analytical tools that cover the full market development lifecycle of an intermodal transportation service. Integrating our technology, they will increase user engagement, ride frequency and average revenue per user (ARPU) while enhancing vehicle utilisation and fleet efficiency.

Three parts of Mileus Transactional technology are detailed in this documentation:

  • Ingestion engine is an API for event ingestion necessary for fetching data that Mileus processes to plan intermodal / combined journeys for the end customers.
  • Watchdog search allows the ride-hailing or taxi operator’s customers to trigger a background search for an intermodal journey plan.
  • Ride insights is a tool for analysing the ride-hailing or taxi operator’s historical and real-time data in order to provide metrics about the potential for applying intermodal transportation.
